Hi, I’m Dr. Melissa Owen, founder of Bloom Chiropractic & Wellness. I’m so happy you’re here!
One of my favorite parts of being a chiropractor is getting to know my patients. Everyone has a story, and I love taking the time to listen. My goal is for you to leave each visit feeling heard, having a better understanding of your body, and feeling confident about your care.
I have a special passion for caring for pregnant women, babies, children, and families. I am Webster Certified, which means I have completed specialized training in chiropractic care during pregnancy. I am also Craniosacral Therapy Certified and an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.
I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic and also teach Anatomy and Physiology at Ivy Tech Community College. I guess you could say I am a bit of an anatomy nerd! I love helping people understand how their bodies work and empowering them to take an active role in their health.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our spoiled Chihuahua, Layla, getting lost in a good audiobook, and connecting with other providers as a leader of Pediatric Professionals of Northwest Indiana.
I feel incredibly lucky to do what I love every day, and I would be honored to be part of your health journey. I can’t wait to meet you!
Why I Started Bloom
After years in practice, I found myself dreaming about creating something that truly reflected the way I wanted to care for people. I wanted a place where patients feel comfortable the moment they walk through the door. A place where there's time to listen, answer questions, celebrate milestones, and support people through every stage of life, not just treat a symptom and send them on their way.
Bloom Chiropractic & Wellness grew from that dream. I intentionally created a small practice where relationships come first. Here, you'll always see me at every visit, giving us the opportunity to build trust over time. My hope is that you'll always feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for because, to me, you're so much more than just a name on the schedule.
I also believe the best healthcare happens when providers work together. When it benefits my patients, I enjoy collaborating with midwives, lactation consultants, pelvic floor physical therapists, massage therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals to help ensure you receive thoughtful, well-rounded care.
